TEHRAN – In a decree issued on Monday, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei pardoned or commuted prison terms of 669 prisoners sentenced by the public and revolutionary courts, the YJC reported.

The amnesty was proposed by Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani as Iran marks the liberation of Khorramshahr from the Iraqi occupation in 1982.
